Hi Gerri, how did you get into making jewelry?
I was getting catalogs that had this handmade jewelry in it. My husband wanted me to “Well, pick something out you like and I’ll get it for you.” I said, “how about you just get me the beads and I’ll make my own.” Which, of course, costs a lot more!
You are co-owner of Three Diva’s Bead Shop. What do you like best about running a small business?
Meeting all the people. Getting all the compliments about what a pretty store it is!
What advice would you give to someone who wanted to start a business?
Find a niche. Be professional about it. Keep your hours. And you also have to advertise. Hobbies are hard to make money on. This isn’t easy.
